Pardew Fingers Crossed On Cabaye’s Groin

In the search for good news this season, Alan Pardew hopes he’s found a glimmer of light.

With most reports suggesting Yohan Cabe could be out until at least after the new year, the manager’s update suggests a more positive recovery period;

Alan Pardew;

“I think that Cabaye will get the green light to have a minor operation, not a major one. We don’t know how long he’s going to be out for but we’ve got our fingers crossed”.

With the keyhole surgery available these days, we could be talking about a couple of weeks rather than a couple of months.

However, when it comes to anything regarding injuries to players I always veer on the side of caution and think the worst, if the reality proves any better then happy days.

Needless to say, a fit again Yohan Cabaye is essential to our chances this summer as unless we bring Ben Arfa inside, the lack of creativity in the middle of the park is frightening in Cabaye’s absence.
