NUFC Player Has Two Games In One Day
Newcastle’s kids travelled to play Spurs at the weekend and an inexperienced Under 21 side were stuffed 6-0, while the Under 18s fared slightly better, going down 4-1.
However, as reported on nufc.com, it was a slightly bizarre day for one of Newcastle up and coming stars.
Alex Gilliead was taken off after 72 minutes of the Under 18s match, only to sprint over to a nearby pitch and play the last twenty or so minutes as a substitute in the Under 21 match. An overall goal aggregate of 1-10 maybe putting a slight dampener on Gilliead’s day…
In a strange twist, Newcastle United’s official website seems to be in denial that Gilliead came on for the Under 21s, though they do list him coming off in the Under 18 match.
As cunning plans go, this one seemed to be in the Baldrick class in terms of producing positive results.
