Nile Ranger Scores And Impresses…
Inman made the first goal and scored the second but the scorer of our first is sure to grab the headlines.
Finally free from injury and court appearances, Nile Ranger took only around ten minutes to score and remind everybody that he’s still here, as though we’d have forgotten.
The much talked about striker put in an all round decent performance and showed that he has got ability if not the application.
No doubt there will be somebody somewhere suggesting that surely Ranger is worth a try because of Cisse’s poor form etc etc but surely the best we can hope for is that he can do enough at this level to tempt a club to take a chance and take him off our hands.
I’ll know that we are really in trouble if we end up with either Ranger or Xisco, hat-trick reserve ‘hero’ of a few weeks ago, on the bench.
With Shola very likely to be heading off to the African Nations and Adam Campbell currently injured, the options in the new year could leave Alan Pardew with little choice but to include one or both of them.
Newcastle kicked off with this starting eleven;
Alnwick, Logan, Moyo, Newton, Good, Riley, Maddison, Abeid, Ranger, Inman, Hooper
