Newcastle To Lose A Good Friend
When they signed up Roy Keane and Steve Bruce it was just perfect.
Two people who I had absolutely no time for, the classroom bully and the plastic Geordie.
One of my friends when asked who his second team were, always used to say he didn’t have one…but if he pressed he had to acknowledge it must be the mackems because there’s was the first result he looked for, apart from ours.
Disliking/hating sinderland should never take over the love of Newcastle, it should just enhance it.
Just like with Bruce, I used to come out in a cold sweat when his name was linked with the Newcastle job. Both of them puffed up with their own sense of importance while at the same time showing limited tactical/managerial ability. Unless you count eating pies or jumping up and down on the touchline, as abilities.
It got to the point with Bruce and Keane where I began to dread them getting results that would be simply too much even for sunderland and getting the push. I secretly was hoping they’d get the odd result that would just keep their fingernails on the job.
O’Neill has now won one Premier League match since March 24th, over seven months and all they have to show for it is a lucky one goal win against ten men Wigan who by all accounts were unlucky not to win with just the 10!
O’Neill somehow seems to have loads of mates in the media so criticism has been muted, sadly though I can see his days are numbered and I’m already scouring the tinternet looking for likely candidates to take his place.
John Terry as player/manager?
