Martin O’Neill To Win Sack Race?

Thanks to the job done so far, Alan Pardew is now one of the safest managers in the Premier League and he even has a vote of confidence from the bookmakers.

BetVictor have a market on the ‘Next Premier League Manager To Leave’ and while David Moyes is rated least likely at 150-1 but Alan Pardew is rated as safe as Sir Alex Ferguson at 100-1.

Interesting to look at the more likelier candidates and for my money, somebody sticks out like a sore thumb as value for money in the sack race, see if you can guess who it is from these runners and riders;

Nigel Adkins 1-3, Mark Hughes 4-1, Roberto Mancini 16-1, Martin O’Neill 33-1

Now don’t get me wrong, the current occupant at the Stadium of Light has really grown on me recently with his managerial skills.

However, only one (lucky) win against ten men Wigan since March and not one of his players scoring a goal since September…well it isn’t good news is it, well it is but you know what I mean.

When you take into account the mackems have got tough away matches coming up at Everton (today) and then Fulham, the odds of 33-1 look mighty tempting to me.

If you fancy a flutter then get in quick as to get these prices you’ll need to do it before today’s Premier League matches kick-off. Full list of the odds here.
