Keegan Gives Hope To Rising NUFC Star

Kevin Keegan has given encouragement to one of Newcastle’s up and coming players.

Some United fans worry that Shane Ferguson, while possessing loads of ability, might not have the physical attributes to make it in the Premier League.

On a visit to Malaysia, Keegan has said given an insight into why he made it as a top player and why  Malaysian footballers can still become top players if they have the ability, even if they don’t have the natural physical presence of other nationalities.

As well as name checking the likes of the diminutive Messi, Iniesta and Xavi, he has also picked out Silva, Hazard and Cazorla as three of the best players in the Premier League.

Keegan;

“These are players without much physical advantage who have proved to be really special.

In my playing career, I was so fit…and was top of the tree. Of course you need to have determination, some skills and pace…but it was my super fitness which made the difference.

You have got to be self-inspired to achieve your goal”.

I always find it a bit depressing when somebody who has made it to the very top says it is down to hard work, and more hard work, then I look at my own attributes and was hoping there was a magic answer.

As arguably the best crosser of the ball at the club already, and a great dribbler, Shane Ferguson has a head start on most other young players.

It is now down to the player to take his chances and prove size isn’t everything….

Kevin Keegan’s tipping advice might not be quite up to his observation son players making it, when asked who would win the Premier League he replied, “Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea”!

Thanks for narrowing it down Kevin!
