Double Relief on Newcastle Injuries

There was double good news this morning as Alan Pardew looks forward to the clash with a returning Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan and Sam Allardyce on Sunday.

After surprisingly giving the French midfielder the last twenty minutes in Belgium, there was no sign of any reaction to the slight hamstring problem that caused Cabaye to come off against Liverpool.

Alan Pardew this morning;

“Demba looks fine and Cabaye has made his comeback, as for Danny Simpson we’ll have to wait and see”.

In the great scheme of things it is obviously a massive bonus if Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye can start on Sunday, plus the manager didn’t feel the need to bring on Cisse so he will be fresh.

In Simpson’s absence, Anita was one of Newcastle’s better players last night, even if you leave aside his stunning goal, but as he comes to terms with the pace of the Premier League I wouldn’t be surprised to see Alan Pardew moving Santon to right-back and giving Shane Ferguson a rare Premier League start at left-back.
