Another Injury For Newcastle United

It was painful for all of us as we watched a desperate performance at St.Mary’s but afterwards Alan Pardew had yet another headache to deal with.

Just at the point when the manager would have been hoping to at last get his first choice defence back on the pitch for the trip to Stoke on Wednesday, he is now left to rue an injury to centre-back Steven Taylor, just as Fabricio Coloccini’s suspension has ended.

Alan Pardew after the Southampton match;

“We’ve got eleven senior players out and it looks like Steven Taylor could be another one out for a while with a hamstring injury”.

While nobody covered themselves in glory against Southampton, when you travel to Stoke you need as many players as possible with the spirit of Steven Taylor on the pitch.

When a team is struggling it is no coincidence that you pick up more and more injuries as players like Taylor desperately attempt to get United back in the match, especially when we don’t have any squad to speak of in terms of covering players who are struggling with knocks and (what start off as) minor strains.
