Alan Pardew With The Good News…

At Alan Pardew’s press conference for the match at Stoke on Wednesday night, the manager had good news and bad news.

“He’s (Cabaye) had one side of his groin done and that caused a potential weakness in the other side, so that needs to be done.

That’ll be done I think on Tuesday or Wednesday and he will probably be out for eight weeks.

We are probably looking at February 1st for both him (Cabaye) and Steven (Taylor), so we might as well get the bad news out of the way, because that’s what it is, and just focus on what is important and that’s what we have got left”.

So the bad news is that we have to manage without both Steven Taylor and Yohan Cabaye for at least a couple of months while the good news is; ‘…focus on what is important and that’s what we have got left!’.

I’ll say this for Alan Pardew, at least he is a realist and doesn’t give out any false hope.

What we have got ‘left’ hasn’t looked too promising and maybe he’s just playing it cool with the January transfer window approaching….
