Tiote Sets Unbelievable Record

9 years ago

Following Cheick Tiote’s sending off against the mackems, Alan Pardew is desperate to see his midfield dynamo take a slightly different approach.

After Sunday’s sending off, Tiote will now miss home games against West Brom. and West Ham, as well as our trip to Anfield. His card count has now risen to 33 yellows and 2 reds in a shade over two seasons.

When you consider that with injuries and African Cup Of Nations duty (and suspensions!), Tiote has only played 59 times for Newcastle, it must represent a very much unwanted record.

Alan Pardew;

“I have worries about his disciplinary record, he’s one of our big players and I can’t have him unavailable. It could be costly and he needs to understand that.

Where we’re at, almost every mistimed tackle is a booking. The sanitisation  of the game is little bit worrying because I like the physical side, I think we all do”.
