Obertan and Ferguson Win Public Backing
Thanks yet again to the thousands of you who voted in our Man Of The Match poll and together the two players comfortably took over half the votes cast.
It was Shane Ferguson who just edged it with 27% of the votes, Obertan a fraction of a per cent under. Yohan Cabaye and Shola were well above the rest in third and fourth.
Still not convinced (nothing new there!) about Obertan but at least on the left it looked to make him appear a bit more dangerous because as well as his obvious pace which he should use 9 times out of 10 whichever side he is on, he also had the option of shaping inside to shoot with his right foot.
As for Ferguson, he is obviously a player with ability and can cross the ball, something that most of our team struggle with. However, with his slight frame he is going to have to be very good to make it and he possibly looks to be a player without a definite position, full-back/winger?
At least with the excellent win on Thursday and their own contributions, they should be going on the pitch with one of the most valuable commodities if called upon – confidence.
