NUFC Star One Step From Final

Following two man of the match performances in his last couple of matches, United left-back Paul Dummett has now helped put St.Mirren one step from the final of the Scottish League Cup.

Last night St.Mirren drew 2-2 at Pittodrie before going through 4-2 on penalties, though the Newcastle born Welsh under 21s full-back didn’t take a spot-kick (probably just as well with our record in shoot outs!).

The win in the quarter-finals means that the next step is a game at Hampden Park where the two semi-finals take place at the end of January.

However, Dummett’s loan spell ends before the semi-finals  putting his participation in doubt, though unless there’s a reason for him being recalled then it would appear likely the loan spell will be extended given that it appears the arrangement is working for all three parties.

Celtic have also progressed while Rangers take on Inverness and Dundee United play Hearts, both matches tonight (Wednesday).
