Nile Ranger – Guilty But Also The Victim…This Time

Nile Ranger has today been convicted on two counts of assault but on this occasion looks to have been as much of a victim as well as a guilty party.

On his latest court appearance, Ranger has been cleared of actual bodily harm on two members of the public in an incident in Newcastle last August, at around 2am in the early hours.

It was claimed that Ranger had been racially abused plus enhanced CCTV pictures showed it was Ranger who was attacked first.

However, when police officers caught up with him after he fled the scene, he pushed two officers and caused minor injuries.

The judge game the player a 12 month conditional discharge and an order to pay £750 compensation to each officer.

Judge John Evans said;

“It has been going on now for a year and I accept during that time you will have attracted quite a deal of publicity that may well have impacted on your life”.

The judge added that the player would hear no more of it if he stayed out of trouble for the next twelve months….
