Newcastle’s Young Players Still Not Up To The Mark

I think more than a few Newcastle fans have to take off their blinkers when they are looking at our younger players, fringe players, whatever you want to call them.

Obertan took his goal well, Fergie and Sammy did decent but who were we playing!

I read on the Mag site before the match that the last Belgian team to win in England was back in 1975!

If the kids had taken Brugge apart then it would have given Pardew something to think about but it even took the ever reliable (relatively) old hand, Steven Taylor, to make a last gasp intervention that preserved the three points.

Some supporters would have Sammy, Fergie and Obertan all playing and that would only lead to almost certain defeat.

Players like Jonas and Ben Arfa are streets ahead, even Danny Simpson is by a country mile our best right-back despite being no world beater and not even worthy of a contract and certainly no ‘purple’ status by Derek Llambias.

The players that will make or break our season are the same ones who were at the heart of it last season, if you think anything else then you are just dreaming.
