Newcastle Linked With Champions’ Defender

Various media are linking Newcastle United with a move for Manchester City defender, Kolo Toure.

The defender has struggled for games and is out of contract in the summer, though an extra angle has been a bad knee injury for Micah Richards which could allegedly impact on any potential move..

A source/sauce is reported to have said;

“There was likely to be a move (to Newcastle) in January  but of course if Micah doesn’t recover before the new year we could have to wait until summer.

However, a lot of big City performances from him will strengthen his bargaining position on personal terms”.

Other clubs thrown into the mix are West Brom, Villa, Swansea and QPR.

The chances of Mike Ashley covering City type wages would appear non-existent and at the age of 31 he doesn’t exactly fit the profile of Newcastle’s accepted transfer policy of young players hopefully increasing in value.

Now QPR could be a different matter…
