More Meaningless International Call-Ups

In today’s crazy world of meaningless international friendlies, today we had news of four first teamers heading off for pointless matches in November.

As we reported this morning, Fabricio Coloccini heads off to Riyadh with Argentina for their match with Saudi Arabia on Wed 14th November.

In addition, also on that day we also have our three African representatives on duty, with Cheick Tiote’s Ivory Coast heading to Austria and our Senegal pair making the journey to Niger. So Cheick finishes his suspension on the day of the West Ham match (11th Nov) then straight off on international duty, great!

We also have Aussie teenager, Curtis Good, in action at the AFC Under 19 Championships in the United Arab Emirates – Australia taking on Qatar this Sunday (4th Nov) in their first group match, before facing Syria (6th Nov) and Saudi Arabia (8th Nov).

The top two in each group going through to the quarter final knockout stage.

The four teams that then progress to the semi-finals, will then also automatically qualify for the FIFA Under 20s World Cup to be held in June/July 2013 in Turkey.
