Fans Give Their Verdict On Potential Wonga Deal
The Sunday Telegraph claimed;
Wonga, the payday lender, is in detailed talks to become the new sponsor of Newcastle United.
Wonga, which has faced criticism for it high interest rates, is poised to replace Virgin Money from the start of the 2013/14 season.
The Sunday Telegraph understands Wonga will sponsor both the shirts and the club’s stadium in a deal believed to be worth £8m a year.
We asked the question – Would £8m a season, for Wonga sponsoring St.James’ Park and The Shirt, Be a Step Forward for NUFC?
Yes it would be a step forward – 9%
No it wouldn’t be a step forward – 91%
I think that gives a pretty fair reflection of how people see the possible deal, backed up by the reaction of people I saw yesterday before, during and after the match.
We now wait to see how good the Sunday Telegraph information is/was.
