Sam Allardyce has been waxing lyrical about the best signing of his managerial career, ex-Newcastle captain, Kevin Nolan.

“I always said that Kevin Nolan was the most important signing I ever made.

It wasn’t just about what he does as a football player on the field, it’s what he does as a captain. He unites dressing rooms by his experience and the fact that he is a leader of players”.

While Big Sam is patting himself on the back I wonder if he’d like to rack his brains and think if he has ever made a bad signing?

Having seen his arrogance at close hand, I would imagine he’ll have an excuse for every disastrous signing he made at Newcastle, considering he only had one transfer window of opportunity you have to give him credit for the sheer number of candidates…

Viduka, Smith, Barton, Geremi, Rozehnal, Cacapa….

My personal Big (not my fault) Sam award goes to Viduka, who gets yours?
