Newcastle May Face Stronger Man.U. Team Than Expected

I know Manchester United, and Newcastle for that matter, won’t play their strongest eleven on Wednesday night but there are weakened teams and there are weakened teams.

When the Mancs have drawn teams from the lowest reaches then at times it has been difficult for neutrals to put a name to many of their players but it could be a different story against Newcastle.

At the same stage of this competition last season, Manchester United travelled to Leeds and had the following seven players in their line-up; Berbatov, Fabio, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Valencia and Owen.

While three of those players have now left, I don’t think there is any doubt that those players make pretty decent opposition and I have no doubt Alex Ferguson will put at least as strong a team out against us.

Rumour has it that Wayne Rooney could make his comeback on Wednesday but their match on Saturday is maybe more realistic.

One thing in our favour is that Man.U. play Spurs at the weekend and so they can’t afford to take that one lightly either.
