Hatem Ben Arfa Gets The Fans’ Vote
The only match that the French genius has not ended up top man in, is the Demba Ba inspired fightback at Everton when the award went to…Demba Ba.
Thanks to the thousands who voted and Ben Arfa won just over half of the votes cast, with James Perch coming in at a distant but respectable second with 15% of the vote and Williamson also putting in a decent performance to grab 10% and third position.
When Ben Arfa has the ball at his feet he has the uncanny ability of ghosting people with them not even having the chance to move.
WIth Hatem, the most important thing is that as well as getting fans on the edge of their seats he also has that vital end product, providing brilliant assists like the one yesterday against Norwich for the winner. Plus of course quality strikes of his own such as the one against Villa.
Credit to James Perch as well who didn’t start that well at right-back but Alan Pardew was on the case and switched him into midfield with Anita slotting in at right-back – a move that benefited everybody. While Williamson put in a more confident shift than he shows a lot of the time, if he could get that extra belief he would be undoubtedly a better player.
On the other hand, a lack of self-belief is unlikely to ever trouble the impressive Hatem Ben Arfa.
