Ben Arfa To Replace Ba Or Cisse

For the third Premier League match in a row, Hatem Ben Arfa was by far Newcastle’s biggest attacking threat, some would say only…

His cracking goal speaks for itself but once again his overall play created all kinds of problems for Villa though he was prone to overdo it at times, at least in part to a lack of trust in the abilities of his teammates on the day.

Against Villa, Ben Arfa was given a free role in the second half as part of what was basically a three man forward line in a desperate call to get back into the match. It increased the chances going forward but I can’t see Alan Pardew repeating this kamikaze approach in a hurry.

Surely the time has come to remove all (or at least most) defensive responsibilities from the French genius and let him use all his energies where he can hurt the opposition.

It will be a tough call but surely the time has come for Alan Pardew to sacrifice either Papiss Cisse or Demba Ba, for Ben Arfa and for the team.
