Alan Pardew Putting His Faith In Youth

While many fans are concerned at the lack of senior players brought in this summer, what it does do is undoubtedly create opportunities for younger players to come through.

In recent seasons we’ve seen the likes of Carroll and Krul come through when in other circumstances they might not have had the opportunity if players had been brought in above them.

Sammy Ameobi has been speaking to the Chronicle about the opportunity Alan Pardew has created for himself and others, if the players don’t grab their chance this season they might regret it for a long long time.

“This is an unprecedented opportunity for us younger players.With the players we’ve got now, they’re top young players that are coming through. I appreciate the fact the manager has put his faith in us since he took over and now it is up to us to start repaying him.

We have games to come where we will get chances that previously wouldn’t have come our way – and I can’t wait”.

The younger Ameobi has also let us have a glimpse into the Ameobi household;

“The Ameobi family hasn’t been a great place to be! Luckily I’m back now and I don’t think Shola is very far away from being ready either so it will be great to have us both back. It has been frustrating but I can see the end of it now”.

Alan Pardew could do with as many options as possible and while he must be desperate to have Cheick Tiote available again for Everton next Monday, he could also have the likes of Perch, Feruson and Ameobi (x2!) fit for selection again.

This season we are likely to need the squad players to raise their game even more than last time around.
