Adidas Posing Problems For Mike Ashley
Sports Direct were imminently expected to be confirmed as the new owner of what will remain of JJB Sport, only for Adidas (Loved it when they did Newcastle’s kit and the club shop was full of their gear, memories…) to potentially put a spoke in the deal.
It had been widely reported that Sports Direct had put in the best bid to take over X number of the JJB outlets with up to mayeb half staying open under the new owners.
The further hurdle of the Office of Fair Trading also appears to have been crossed in terms of anti-competition/monopoly regulations.
At the eleventh hour though, the Finacial Times and SKY amongst others are reporting that Adidas are insisting that they are paid in full for the value of their stock held in JJB stores.
This extra element could mean that Ashley and Sports Direct will have to re-evaluate their offer, taking into consideration that extra financial commitment.
It’s your choice, who was your Newcastle United man of the match?
