NUFC and Transfer Targets – When No Means Yes

Surely the first thing you have to accept in the transfer market is that there is nothing to be gained by telling the media who you are after, well unless you are ‘Arry Redknapp (when he is employed) and you are looking to unsettle players at every other club.

Today has brought two more bits of ‘information’ with The Journal claiming that they understand the club will not be attempting to buy any defenders or midfielders, the only possibility being a striker coming in.

Then elsewhere it is reported that when asked if Andy Carroll was still a possibility, Alan Pardew has said; “ Not as far as I’m aware”.

So using my newly patented ‘making sense of the transfer window’ shiny new machine, I’ve fed in all the relevant information’ and I can exclusively reveal that Newcastle will sign Andy Carroll and play him at right-back.
