Joey Barton Chancing His Arm Again
Barton is due to serve a 12-match suspension at the start of the season and will return to action sooner at Flettwood because they play more games early on.
He could now return on 6 October or sooner (if they have cup runs), six weeks earlier than if he stayed at QPR.
This is compared to 17 November’s game with Southampton which could be his return date if he stays at Loftus Road (barring a cup run)
QPR deny holding discussions about a loan move to the League Two side.
The one-time England international agreed to join the Football League newcomers for a week during pre-season but was not expected to play a match.
He knows several players from his younger days and has a close friendship with Fleetwood forward Andy Mangan.
It might help Joey Barton serve his current suspension a bit quicker but I can’t help smiling when I think of these league two players waiting to wind Joey up.
I don’t suppose League Two suspensions count in the Premier League…
