Young Midfielder Signs Five Year Deal For Newcastle
Bigirimana is a Burundian-born Congolese football player. He is a midfielder who played for Coventry City before joining Newcastle United in July 2012. Born in Bujumbura, he moved as a refugee from Burundi with his mother in 2004 to the UK having spent time living in Uganda.
Only eighteen, he played much of last season as a holding midfield player for Coventry and has already drawn comparison with Chelsea’s Essien, I’d settle for that!
Though first team football may be some way off I have to say I’m very encouraged that we are looking to make signings now which will not bear fruit for a number of years.
A class story regarding our new signing was at the age of eleven he was walking home from the shops and happened to go past Coventry’s training complex.
Showing confidence beyond his years he asked if he could have a try/trial and the rest as they say is history!
