Reports Of Debuchy To Newcastle Deal Agreed

It is reported today that French international right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to complete a move to Newcastle after a £7million fee was agreed with Lille.

The deal would represent a real coup for Alan Pardew and Newcastle United as many fans hopes were dented after Debuchy’s impressive showing in the Euros.

Newcastle have allegedly upped their offer after Lille rejected earlier bids from both United and Inter Milan the Mail reports.

A close friend of Yohan Cabaye, it is hoped that the deal will be quickly completed to allow the full-back to link up with the rest of the squad in Germany.

A fee of around £7m would at least on the face of it represent a real bargain, a first choice international with nearly 40 European game sunder his belt, including Champions League for Lille last season.

He would also add to the ‘winners’  like Cabaye and Tiote in our team, who already have medals to show for their previous efforts. Another one certainly wouldn’t do any harm.

A Debuchy signing would back up the increasing speculation that Simpson could also be shortly moving on, with a probable transfer fee of up to around £4m you would guess.

Potentially meaning Newcastle would have brought in a a real quality international and still be up on their transfer dealing so far this summer, having banked a total of around £5m for Leon Best and Fraser Forster, as well as getting Alan Smith’s ludicrous salary off the wage bill.
