A word of warning if you are heading to St.James’ Park for the Olympic football matches, the list of banned items could well catch you out.

Beware of trying to smuggle in large flags, banners and oversized hats.

While balls, rackets, frisbees, hunting horns, air horns, klaxons, drums, vuvuzelas and whistles are also on the banned list.

‘Excessive amounts of food’ aren’t allowed, while liquids (no alcohol) can only be brought in containers of up to 100ml, although you can take an empty bottle in and free drinking water is available.

Also ‘surprisingly” on the list also contains items are bayonets, flick knives, extendable batons, sharpened combs, modified belt buckles and loose blades, as well as CS or pepper sprays; while walkie-talkies, rollerskates, pets, tents and spraypaint are a no no.

So just to recap; if you fancy taking your big hat wearing rollerskating donkey with expectations of camping in a tent afterwards while banging his drum and spraypainting over the S***** D***** signs, forget it.

If you need inspiration for a birthday (or any kind of) present why not get them the new DVD, or something equally class from The Mag’s Amazon Store, or why not treat yourself!
