BBC and SKY Do Battle Over Andy Carroll
Interesting sparring tonight on Andy Carroll as BBC Sport claim West Ham have offered a £2m loan fee with an agreed £17m fee if they buy at the end of it, while SKY Sports have come out and claimed West Ham deny any such offer has been made.
That’s cleared that one up then!
You pay your money and take your choice but I reckon the only sure thing is that Carroll doesn’t feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
Further claims have been made allegedly from sources close to Carroll, that he has no interest in going to West Ham and wants a return to St.James’ Park.
A scarcity of other options and the fact Newcastle did definitely make some kind of offer to bring Carroll back at least on loan, makes this a story that still has legs.
Quite ironic that the Carroll speculation is dragging on so long this summer without a conclusion as yet, all a bit different from the very costly smash and grab Liverpool did when they took him to Anfield.
