Newcastle ‘Star’ Up In Court…Again

STOP PRESS: Nile Ranger’s trial adjourned until October, to allow closer inspection of CCTV footage.

Newcastle United ‘star’ Nile Ranger is due up in court yet again this morning.

Ranger is charged this time with assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, with regard to alleged assaults on four people, including two police officers, whilst on a night out last August in Newcastle city centre.

The trial at Newcastle Crown Court is scheduled to last two or three days.

His address is listed as Forest Hall but it is ironic that just as there appears to be genuine interest from the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and even possibly Premiership new boys Southampton, he could find his behaviour catching up with him.

Fingers crossed that he is found to have not been guilty this time and he can make a new home at Sheffield or Southampton, rather than a temporary one in Durham…

The club have done a great job recently in terms of getting rid of those making the front rather than back page headlines but we will be well shot of Nile Ranger when we can get him out of the door.
