Good To See Lawrenson Annoying Somebody Else For A Change

Mark Lawrenson is clearly not a fan of Newcastle United or its supporters, so we’ve come to accept that he’ll struggle to have a good word to say about us.

However, like many other annoying commentators/pundits he appears superglued into his position, license to talk rubbish at our expense.

However, maybe ‘Lawro’ is doing his best to do us all a favour as he has managed to upset another section of the population.

During the BBC’s coverage of the England v Italy match, the Beeb were trying to encourage interaction from viewers by Twitter, only for Lawrenson to dismiss Twitter users as, “sad”.

Earlier in the Euros the BBC was forced to defend Lawrenson following accusations of casual racism after referring to a man dressed in an all in one black lycra bodysuit as ‘Eric the Eel’.

This followed on from Lawrenson’s public apology and insistence he meant no offence after making a joke on Radio 5 Live that could be construed as having homophobic overtones.

Keep it going ‘Lawro’, we might get rid of you one of these days.
