Demba Ba Injury Blow

9 years ago

Demba Ba heads a list of five Senegalese players who will not feature in today’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Uganda due to injury.

The exact nature of Demba Ba’s injury hasn’t been revealed but he will definitely miss today’s match.

Senegal’s Coach Joseph Koto has been very honest in the appraisal of his own team and what he has said in advance of today’s match could have been many of our past managers talking about their team, in terms of the reference to his defence!

“They cannot defend but we will play attacking since Papiss Cisse, Souleymane Camara and Dame Ndoye will be in the team, despite missing the regulars”.

Papiss Cisse will continue as captain and in typically relaxed mood said;

“We are not under pressure since I can create a goal assist for the team as a result of play against Uganda”.

Senegal recovered from a goal down to beat Liberia last weekend and should easily get out of this initial group on the long road of qualification for 2014 in Brazil.

Fingers crossed that Ba’s injury is not serious but could be a factor as we await to see how Demba’s contract clause issue works itself out at Newcastle United.

Ba might be out injured and the rest of our team currently scattered around the world but make sure you get hold of the Newcastle United 2011/12 season review DVD which you can order now for only £12 (includes free UK delivery) from Amazon.
