Newcastle United had previously been linked with 26 year old right-back Mathieu Debuchy and it is now looking a knocking bet that he will join his mate Yohan Cabaye this summer.

Alan Pardew has been spotted this season watching Lille and Cabaye has been dropping very heavy hints recently with regard to his good friend and ex-teammate, a player who like Cabaye has spent his entire career at the French club.

Speaking last night in a Radio Newcastle phone-in, Alan Pardew admitted that he wanted to bring in a player who was close to Cabaye.

In addition, when talking about Danny Simpson’s contract position the manager made it very clear that there was every chance that teh right-back could leave th club this summer. Irrespective of that I think it is clear that the position needed strengthening anyway.

Debuchy has recently picked up a few caps for France and an added bonus is that the Lille right-back isn’t shy of getting forward and has scored four goals this season, a definite bonus as Alan Pardew is definitely keen on increasing the goal threat from all over the pitch.

Hazard was also a team of cabaye’s & I am sure I have read somwhere that Pardew has watched him 3 or more times this season, he ticks all the right boxes except price tag & I thought he was out if reach but if we qualify for CL tomorrow who knows..

Imagine adding a player like that to what we already have, add a big striker & the goal scoring defender AP is talkin about & I think we are more or less there, thats if we do not lose any players in the summer.

Hazard is out of reach they are talking 40m euros

Hazard is too expensive, I reckon we’ve got a chance of getting vertonghen though if Ashleys prepared to pay the 8 mill like he did with cisse

Pardew said that he wants to get two players signed up before the Euro’s, as they’ll have a good tournament and the big clubs will start circling. One of thems got to be Debuchy, the other one could be Marvin Martin or Luuk De Jong.
