Newcastle Winning It For Themselves, Not Fergie
Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson is pinning his hopes on a Newcastle United victory in this weekend’s clash against Manchester City at St. James’ Park.
City overtook Manchester United in the Premier League on goal difference after their 1-0 win over Ferguson’s side at the Etihad on Monday.
The Magpies go into the game needing a win to keep up with Arsenal, one point ahead in third place, and Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of Newcastle on goal difference in fourth.
Man.U. play Swansea at 4 o’clock on Sunday, after the Newcastle-City game has finished.
“By the time we kick off we’ll know what we need to do, Newcastle are fighting for that position in the top four. They have a chance. It’s an exciting end to the season.
The challenge for City is to win at Newcastle and Newcastle are playing very well. They’ve lost 4-0 at Wigan but galvanised themselves to win at Chelsea [earlier this week]. Their form is good and it won’t be an easy game for City”.
