Newcastle United Move Into World Top 20
Manchester United remain the world’s most valuable football brand with a value of €672.9 million (£543m), and despite losing the Champions League final to Chelsea on Saturday, Bayern Munich enjoy this year’s strongest growth, with a €230.3m (£186m) increase in brand value that sees the Bundesliga giants take second place from Real Madrid.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have been affected by the state of their domestic economy, with unemployment hitting gate receipts and other revenue streams, and both drop one place in the rankings.
This is yet another reminder of Newcastle United’s place in the grand scheme of things, when the club gets it right.
Looking down the list the thing you”ll notice is that pretty much every club featured, certainly the ones who aren’t English, are permanent fixtures in the Champions League.
If Newcastle can manage to become a regular fixture in the top six in the Premier League that will provide a platform for the club to head in only one way.
