Alan Pardew Up For French Manager Of Year If Ben Arfa Succeeds

Tonight France take on Iceland as Hatem Ben Arfa looks to rubber stamp his selection for the European Championships.

On his last appearance for France in August 2010, Ben Arfa scored a screamer of a goal in a 1-1 draw against Norway, the match being Laurent Blanc’s first in charge of the national team. Well worth watching below.

In advance of tonight’s match, French football expert Andy Barsell has been talking about how back in France the supporters generally perceived Ben Arfa as a brat.

Speaking on Talksport today though, Barsell says the belief back home across the channel is that; “Alan Pardew has really got Ben Arfa to knuckle down and he is a changed man”.

Maybe Alan Pardew will be in line for a manager of the year award in France as well, if it proves that he has got to the bottom of the undoubted genius that is Hatem Ben Arfa, for club AND country.
