The fixture list often throws up intriguing possibilities and Newcastle’s final few matches could work to both the club and Hatem Ben Arfa’s advantage.

Ben Arfa is in the best form of his short (so far) Newcastle United career, helping to inspire United to five straight wins.

A regular first team spot and playing form that makes him a no-brainer on the team sheet, have helped propel him to the forefront of wildcard thinking when it comes to his national team and the Euros in Poland/Ukraine.

I for one would really look forward to seeing him in action in the summer…yes even more than edge of your seat players like Gareth Barry, Peter Crouch and Stewart Downing!

The fixtures have thrown up intriguing clashes in the third and fourth last matches of our season.

For the team, our two toughest looking matches look to be Chelsea away and Manchester City at St.James’ Park.

For Hatem Ben Arfa there will be a massive extra incentive in these matches as he will be up against two of his big rivals for the French team/squad in Malouda and Nasri.

Interest in those matches will obviously be intense in the UK but in France they will also be taking a keen interest and if Ben Arfa blitzes his rivals in those games, it can only give Laurent Blanc something to think about very carefully.

This can only be good news for Newcastle fans, a genius of a player at the top of his game and now with an extra incentive to shine in our toughest fixtures.

I cannot wait.
