Papiss Cisse Thanks God and Alan Shearer!
Papiss Cisse continues to impress both on and off the field, whether it is knocking in a goal every 52 minutes, or knocking on the door of a local Geordie lad who had sent him a welcome card on his arrival.
Interviewed this week Papiss has revealed how he’s absolutely loving it at Newcastle and I think we’d all agree to that.
Unlike certain other signings Newcastle have made, Cisse seems to appreciate the responsibility he has to both the club and the people – Cisse…God…Shearer – it’s hard to tell the three of them apart at the moment.
“I‘ve settled in quickly to this league because it is also due to my team mates and the staff who have opened the door and welcomed me, hence today I can express myself on the pitch as I ought to. It was my objective to settle quickly as I did in Germany. Everything has gone well I thank God.
This number! The famous number, the man who had it was a great man, he is a figurehead in football here at Newcastle and in England and me I come from nowhere and am entrusted with this number. For the moment I am taking on (assuming) the responsibility and thanks to god long may it continue.
It was my ambition to come and play in this league and dreamt to play in this league and I have been given a chance. The day they told me you are going to Newcastle…I was like a kid and HAPPY! It has been good to come to England”.
