Papiss Cisse Overtakes Van Persie As Top Striker

The arrival of Papiss Cisse has rocked the Premier League as his goals have fired Newcastle United into Champions League contention.

Despite 37 goals in only 65 matches for lowly Freiburg in the competitive Bundesliga, he seems to have flown under the radar of even the renowned English media and top class commentators….

Cisse’s goal record currently stands at a hugely impressive ten goals in nine matches….but it gets better.

In terms of actual time on the pitch, since his arrival in England the Senegalese hitman has scored his 10 goals in just 528 minutes on the pitch.

In other words, every 52 minutes and 48 seconds we can expect a Cisse screamer to hit the back of the net, a better goals per minute record than any other striker in the Premier League.

That is getting on for an average of two goals per game and while that might be a little too much to ask to be continued, Cisse’s record in Germany suggests this run of goals is not completely out of the ordinary.

Plus there are still some people who are saying he is still settling in….
