Five Cup Finals Down, Five To Go

This is the business end of the season and all credit to Alan Pardew and his players for putting Newcastle into a position where Champions League qualification is pretty much in our own hands with five matches to go.

The manager’s reference to the last ten matches being like ten cup finals was quite apt, as he and his back room staff have given each league match the fullest of respect and treated them as though they were cup finals.

We obviously haven’t won every match but nobody can deny that week in week out the attention to detail hasn’t been of the very highest  standard to give the team the best possible chance in the ninety minutes.
