Pardew Set To Raid Dutch Market Again
Alan Pardew could be set to raid the European market once again this summer as he targets a number of players in Holland’s Eredivisie.
The Magpies have been linked once again with a move for PSV Eindhoven left-back Erik Pieters and, according to the Daily Mail, Pardew is also looking at FC Groningen’s Virgil van Dijk and FC Twente’s Douglas.
20-year old Van Dijk has made 22 appearances this season, scoring three goals, but is under contract until 2015.
Brazilian Douglas, who also holds a Dutch passport, has made over 100 appearances for Twente but has attracted interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and Bayern Munich pushing his value up to £6million.
