‘Newcastle United Have Found Another Kluivert’ – Oh No!

On my way to the shop I saw a Chronicle billboard proclaiming ‘ Toon have found another Kluivert ‘.

‘I bloody well hope not’ I thought!

Got me pondering though, how many other big names have come through the revolving doors at SJP promising so much, only to depart soon after having delivered very little but becoming considerably richer in the process at our expense.

I remember Rush, Barnes, Pearce and even Sol Campbell pulling on the shirt but achieving very little on the pitch wearing it.

Then of course there’s (I apologise for swearing ) Michael Owen,  can you add to this infamous list or even beat my suggestions?
