Hatem Ben Arfa – First Name On NUFC Teamsheet?

Following the Arsenal match we had the rare treat of an interview with Hatem Ben Arfa via the official website.
When I say interview, obviously it wasn’t a spoken one as his English is still ‘developing’ but obviously we are only really interested in him doing his talking on the pitch.

Hatem Ben Arfa;
“We are very disappointed because we thought we had the draw, but in the last minute they scored.
Everyone in the dressing room was disappointed and it is always worse to lose in the last minute like we did.
It was a good goal from me, but we lost so it doesn’t mean anything. I am very disappointed and in the next game we have to win.
We have to keep our heads up and look at what is in front of us. This game has gone now and we have to learn from it and move on.
We have ten games left now and we have to be prepared to achieve something at the end of the season.
I was very happy to start and I am very happy to be on the pitch.
I hope to do much more for the team when I am on the pitch. I am doing everything I can.
I want to start games – every player wants that. Now I start it is good, I hope I keep going to play more and more for the team between now and the end of the season”.

Talking of doing his..talking on the pitch, I thought overall Ben Arfa did well on Monday. As well as the superb goal he tracked back well until the last 15/20 minutes when I think lack of match fitness played a big part.

With recent results not that great, I don’t see what there is to lose by giving Ben Arfa a run until the end of the season on that right hand side.

Ryan Taylor picked up an injury ahead of Arsenal and Obertan will be lucky to get a start before the end of the season judged on his woeful showing on Monday, plus regardless of any other factors one thing stands out a mile….

Hatem Ben Arfa scores goals, only ten starts all season and he has four goals, which makes him joint second top scorer.

He is tied with Leon Best who made nineteen starts for his four goals.

Also you have to take into account that Best was playing up front and Ben Arfa usually on the right.

As many have said, take out Ba’s goals and with Cissé still adapting to the Premier League, where else will we get goals from?

Ben Arfa can take us into Europe and himself to the European Champions as well, if he gets the chance.
