Great News For NUFC As UEFA Say They Will Ban Clubs
Many clubs must be struggling already to stay within the rules and the fact that nobody paid out more on a player than Newcastle United in the January transfer window must be at least partly down to clubs taking seriously the threat of a ban.
Moving forward to the summer, if clubs are going to be constrained by trying to stay within the financial fair play rules, then with Newcastle United’s stated aim of only considering players go for ‘silly money’ then surely it should let us sleep a bit more soundly in our beds when we are thinking of vultures circling in the summer.
It would appear to be a collision course between clubs and UEFA as surely it is beyond belief that every club will stay with in the restrictions, with ‘silly money’ spent by somebody..
If a Chelsea or Manchester City, or Real Madrid or Barca, are struggling then you would find it hard to consider that none of them will look to spend their way out of ‘trouble’. Maybe the key factor will be not how UEFA reacts but rather if the majority of clubs are staying within the rules, how they then react to any rogue clubs.
Will they back UEFA or their fellow clubs?
