Arsenal v Newcastle United – Live On SKY
Monday 12 March 2012 8pm

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal maybe sum up this season’s Premier League, not quite up to the standard of previous seasons but usually entertaining to watch.

Three wins and ten goals against AC Milan, Liverpool and Spurs, yet that followed a tame 2-0 surrender when they visited the mackems in the FA Cup.

Arsenal have suffered with injuries, though  they have also suffered with some pretty terrible defending as well, which is where the chance lies.

At the other end RobinVan Persie has been awesome, much like Demba Ba for us, he has almost single-handedly carried the goal threat for his team.

Twenty five goals in twenty seven Premier League matches is some going, plus like wor Demba he doesn’t score many tap-ins.

In preparing for the match, Alan Pardew has said that sitting back is not an option as that would surely lead to punishment somewhere in the ninety minutes.

I fancy the odd change to Newcastle’s formation and can see Cissé dropping to the bench with Ben Arfa starting in some kind of different formation.

Personally I’d go the whole hog and have the two Dembas AND Ben Arfa going for it.

As well as trying to cut a gap of five points between the teams, maybe the last two rounds of league fixtures have emphasised the gulf in class that possibly still exists, Arsena seeing off Liverpool and Spurs as we drop four home points to Wolves and the mackems.

What I think is quite clear is that if the home side win and put eight points between us then that would be pretty much it in terms of dreaming of fourth spot. Bit of a shame really when Chelsea and the scousers are doing everything they can to help ease us up the table.

Our last fixture at The Emirates saw a first ever win at their ‘new’ stadium following a draw and four defeats, just how long ago does that Andy Carroll winner feel now?

Things haven’t really clicked for Newcastle since they took apart Manchester United and just maybe, if we can get the first goal then it could make for a very interesting night.

He has a bit of the look of a Laurent Robert and I think Hatem Ben Arfa can be our wildcard on the night, so our first tip for the match is the 5-1 with BET365 for Ben Arfa to score any time in the ninety minutes.

We also think Demba Ba is due a goal and fancy the 25-1 on a 1-1 draw with Ba scoring either first or last.

Finally, Newcastle United are 13-2 to win, this team has definitely got the ability to pull it off but will it be tonight when they click?
