The obvious joke I suppose would be that one cup final would be quite nice!

Alan Pardew talking to the Chronicle;

“We’ll be ready to go again next week – we’ve got 13 cup finals between now and the end of the season.

I’ve given the players the weekend off. They’ll rest and do what they’ve got to do, and Papiss Cisse will be able to bring a few more clothes to Newcastle!

We’ll regroup on Monday ahead of two very, very important fixtures. We’ve got Wolves, and then we’ve got the derby.

The mood in the camp’s very much one of putting the Spurs game behind us. I’ve every confidence we’ll do that.

We’ll have Cheick, Yohan and Ryan back for Wolves – they’re three very important players”.

I like the way Pardew speaks, I really believe he helps the players focus on getting the best we possibly can from the eleven on the pitch.

Obviously we”ve had setbacks like Fulham and Spurs, which every team has…only ours tend to be a bit more dramatic than other clubs!

What I want a Newcastle manager to do is aim for the stars and get the players maybe even believing they are better than what they are.

Kevin Keegan was a master in that department but Alan Pardew is proving to be somebody with a knack of messing inside the heads of our players, in a positive way.

PS Shame they couldn’t have subbed Papiss Cissé a few quid for some new clothes!
