NUFC’s Alan Smith On Form…
Anybody who was mental enough to think Alan Smith was in any way an answer at St.James’ Park this season might have to think again with his ‘form’ for League One’s MK Dons.
On his arrival (with Newcastle United allegedly still paying something like all but 50p of his wages) on loan at Milton Keynes, their manager Karl Robinson greeted Smith as some kind of creative genius.
Along with fellow United loanee James Tavernier, Smith played for MK Dons as they travelled to leaders Charlton.
At one goal and a man down, Smith then gave away the penalty that put Charlton two up.
Smith was also booked and then pushed up front before getting substituted with seven minutes left. MK Dons grabbing a consolation goal after Smith going off, while Tavernier played the whole match.
So a booking, gives a penalty away, gets substituted and no goals scored or created – just another day at the office for Alan Smith!
