NUFC Tips – Good, Bad & Non-Runner
Yesterday we came up with some amusing bets to occupy our minds over the weekend, below you can see the original article.
On the positive side the hopeful bet of Leicester springing a surprise came true at 16-5, their win at Norwich meaning we will play the Canaries on the scheduled date of Saturday 17th March instead of having to move for the cup.
Sadly. Robin Van Persie just missed out on a hat-trick…by three!
When I saw MK Dons had hit five I thought surely Alan Smith must have got one of them and that would really have shown us for taking the mick out of the on-loan ‘star’. I might have known better, as the fact they’d hit five should have tipped me off to the obvious….Smith was out injured!
Thankfully the Toon are back in action next week and we can concentrate on proper football.
This coming weekend without any Newcastle United actions has left us twiddling our thumbs in Mag towers.
It is a bit of a toss up as to whether this is even a worse case than the England weekends, probably it is because the ‘no proper football’ in the coming days is down solely to our players.
To occupy our minds we thought we’d come up with a few top betting tips(*) for you to bear in mind this weekend.
Here you go with odds kindly supplied by our betting partners BET365
As one of my friends famously said when asked whether he had a second team….’I suppose it must be the mackems because they are the first result I look for’!
So what about the 22-1 on offer for Robin Van Persie to grab a hat-trick against them tomorrow. it is the only trophy Arsenal have any hope of going for so quite happy for them to put everything into their match tomorrow, an added bonus would be a mass brawl leading to half their team suspended for our match at the Emirates.
In a desperate attempt to avoid another football-less weekend, we have the prayer mats out for Leicester to pull of a bit of a shock and win their cup-tie at Carrow Road. You can get 16-5 on them winning in 90 minutes but if the Canaries do fly through then it means no home match on Saturday 17th March as our scheduled opponents will be in cup action.
Finally, we bring you the worst betting proposition in history, on-loan Alan Smith is 9-4 to score at any time in the MK Dons v Oldham match, fill your boots!
*Please approach all of these bets with caution as in at least two cases they come with a large helping of wishful thinking. It would take more than wishful thinking to expect Smith to score!
