NUFC Out Of Cup Begins To Hurt
This two week gap in the league before the home clash with Wolves is maybe no bad thing in that it gives Cheick Tiote time to ease himself back in, whilst it will undoubtedly help Papiss Cissé find his feet on Tyneside after an interesting introduction to life at St.James’ Park.
However, for supporters it is now that the FA Cup exit begins to bite, two weeks without a match now and maybe worse to come.
Two results we’ll be keeping an eye on next weekend are Norwich v Leicester and Chelsea v Birmingham.
If Norwich get through then that knocks our home match with Delia’s Canaries from the scheduled Saturday 17th March as that is the weekend for 6th round matches.
It gets worse as if Chelsea overcome Birmingham AND any potential quarter final opponents, then the away match at Stamford Bridge will have to be also find a new date as that weekend sees the FA Cup semi-finals played.
Clearly the moral of the story is don’t get knocked out of the FA Cup!
