NUFC – Ashley Selling St.James’ Park

In recent times Newcastle United have definitely improved their website and other areas of the club have shown similar improvement, though with still a long way to go.

As part of their marketing/communication initiative, like other big clubs they are using modern routes such as Twitter to get their news out.


As well as things you might want to know such as ticket information and injury updates, they naturally try to flog you stuff.

In line with Mike’s business empire the offers tend to be for cheap and not so cheerful stuff that they obviously can’t shift.

Anyway, the hot topic of the last few days has been all about St.James’ Park and the S***** D***** A**** nonsense.

So as Ashley tries to erase a hundred years plus of history, what is sent out by the club to all their fans on Twitter at 10.50am on Friday (yesterday – 17th Feb)…..

So the question has to be – has a junior member of staff cocked up, is somebody within the club being a little mischievous, or is this the ultimate expression of Mike Ashley’s cold blooded approach to retail…..take advantage of any opportunity, cash is king and scruples are for losers!
